Anyways, we talked a lot about reincarnation and she felt that keeping a strong sense of self and *some* memories (such as James Leininger) only happens if a person dies before they're supposed to or had a strong sense of not fulfilling their life purpose. Otherwise it's mainly gut instinct that gets pulled over. NPCs get recycled rather than reincarnated.
