This latest down turn however is probably the death nails for the wider industry here due to the mills being dismantled. West Fraser, one of the major companies here, up and shut its massive mill down at Fraser Lake this spring. No one knew it was happening until they went to go to work the next morning and found the gates locked.
Not a great look for the future of forestry here in BC.
