>>11824571Well, slow in the sense that hiragana and katakana were introduced progressively in the first and second books respectively (the words are also listed in full kana and kanji forms from the beginning). I don't do most of the writing prompts but the reading comprehension material is very good and allows for a good sense of progress while reviewing old vocabulary too. Since I mostly started learning to keep myself active in a rather inactive stage of my life I'm fine with a relaxed pace.
I'm also in contact with several people on Conversation Exchange, and it's a good incentive to learn more active memory so writing isn't such a slog.
