Women are dressed like whores, including the virginal priest mage from the previous game and her gypsy cousin. Girl power is front and centre with only three protags who are liberated women. The people of Spira are materialistic, more than the previous game. The vatican essentially of the previous game struggles to hold onto power against truthers, however truthers are subverted by money hungry materialistic treasure hunters looking for the same thing. The final level of the previous game, where people sacrificed themselves for a thousand years to bring a temporary peace to the world , is turned into a tourist attraction, but the disneyland kind, not the holocaust kind.
My takeaway from playing this piece of shit, for only 5 hours, is that Seymour Guado was fucking right, he wanted to destroy the entire world in the previous game (to save it) but you stop him, and allow this game to happen. Kudo to the Japs, I never played this game as a kid despite loving the first one, now ive finally played it. I look at it from a /pol perspective and understand clearly what the FFX team were trying to say.
