>>5722111Exactly, i don't understand how self improvement is only connected to bodybuilding and Greek God tier physique (You'll be disappointed once you can't get it btw). Self-improvement is not just listening to music and lifting weights, i'm not saying that it doesn't involve a healthy body but there's this main requirement which should be considered - Mindset.
Going to the gym costs money, self improvement is about spending money smarter as well, no? instead of going to the gym it's better to save a few bucks and do bodyweight/calisthenics at your local park and an early morning jog.
With the money you have saved from that buy a book which teaches you a skill, or better yet learn to save up that money and invest with it!
(
http://investopedia.com/ has a lot of info for beginners and beyond.)
Before hitting the gym why don't you set priorities? define your problems and what you need to work on and work on them! if you're in a bad economic situation then the gym should be at the very bottom of your "Worry list". If you're wealthy but feel like you're wasting time - Pick up a productive hobby and constantly work on it! or improve yourself and your current skills!
I hope that wasn't a bad rant, i just hope that people don't associate self-improvement to perfect bodies and pointless bodybuilding only..
