>>14102002This is only true for a certain part of the population. A reasonable, serious society would have behaved (only for this matter) like China: Closing everything, mandatory lockdowns enforced by serious penalties, separating high risk from low risk population, etc. Also, the first priority would have been to determine why some people are asymptomatic, vaccinating all the rest of the population and separating the asymptomatic from the rest.
In an amusement park in China it was detected that one visitor was in close contact with a positive case (not even confirmed infected, just close contact, imagine that). What did they do? They locked down the park, brought dozens of trucks with everything the visitors would need to be comfortable for a week and forced them to stay there. In the meantime, they started testing EVERYONE. This is how you manage it. Creating a very questionable vaccine that has not been tested like ALL THE REST OF THE MEDICINE IN THE WORLD and starting injecting it indiscriminately to all the population, is simply lazy.
But that is the society we live on nowadays: Lazy. Weak. Everyone wants to amuse themselves to death, no matter the consequences. No one wants to do hard work, no one wants to study, no one wants to endure a little discomfort for a matter of months. You can't lock yourself completely in your houses for months to endure it, no, you have to go to amusement parks, clubs, bars, restaurants, whatever its needed to get drunk on amusement. No, you can't stop social life for a few weeks, no, I have so much ego problems that I constantly need to visit people that don't care about me at all to express my opinions that absolutely nobody cares about.
We need Sparta back.
