>>8844144one of these things is not like the others
it's a natural instinct to try pushing boundaries and cheating is a skill like anything else
it can be frustrating losing to a cheater but it's an essential part of developing secure systems u kno?
>>8844152i mean i agree with you for the most part. the state of the discourse being yelling tranny or bigot at the opposition is a pretty awful state of things. people tend to talk around dysphoria since that implies (correctly i'd say) that transgenders are mentally ill, but obviously it's one of the root causes and if someone truly does have gender dysphoria the solution is therapy and not body modification.
where i'm sure we disagree is that i don't think transvestites, men who like dolls and makeup, or bodybuilding women driving monster trucks are problems even if they're all kind of off putting to me personally. my concern is all the noise about transgenders (or non-bianaries for that matter) drowning everything else out and forcing people who are confused in the genuine sense or just have some odd interests down the path of transgenderism without anyone realizing that's what's happening.
at the end of the day objects, interests, and activities shouldn't be gendered. if someone can do what you want in your free time without being judged or outcast and still feel like they're "not them" specifically because of your body then it's a mental problem that they need to work through.
i really think that having transgenders being a concept taken seriously enough not to get laughed off is an important step towards reaching that middleground otherwise it becomes more likely that people "rebel against the system" and entrench themselves in the importance of transitioning.
