Florida: manatees
Manatees are neat because they have no natural predators, despite sharing habitats with alligators and sharks. A predator is wired to react when a potential prey reacts, either by doing a self-defense action or by trying to run away. When a manatee sees a predator, it does neither and just ignores it, and the predator, not knowing what to do, just says "screw it" and leaves the manatee alone. We could all learn a thing or two from the noble manatee.
