If AI can replace programmers you’ll still need to give it detailed instructions on what to make, but in English or some other natural spoken language which is a shit way to describe something in unambiguous terms. Formal languages will always be a superior way to represent logical/mathematical thought processes, and converting a natural language to a formal language through the use of AI is always going to be imprecise and fraught with error. You’ll have to have someone who actually understands code to proofread everything to make sure the computer didn’t fuck up. Even a SINGLE line being wrong out of millions will cause your code to kill someone or cost your company billions of dollars potentially. The main problem is trying to convert ambiguous human language to precise mathematical language with zero mistakes. It will never happen.
