But as annoying as mainland Chinese are, at least they usually don't get violent. I think it's part of British culture but open displays of hostility are not considered socially acceptable here. If you start getting really loud and shouty it means you've abandoned certain precepts and conventions of propriety (service staff will start ignoring you, for example) and when you get physical then all bets are off because you're acting barbaric/threat and will be treated as such. These rules of decorum apply to both Thais and foreigners.
