We've had massive forest planting projects in the 1700-1800s where they spammed that shitty japanese acacia breed (Sophora Japonica?) everywhere.
That shit is basically a weed plant that grows tall that barely needs any water so it's everywhere, but it's full of thorns, nothing on it is edible and it has tiny little leaves, so it's shit for building temporary shelters.
