Got some good offers and good potential offers from some prestigious mine servicing companies, since I left my fairly long time employer earlier this year and have been bouncing around a bit seeing where I really wish to go for the long term.
I like mine servicing because it allows me to travel and see many different mines, mostly coal mines among the companies I consider, but also limestone, gold, gypsum, silver, and heavy metal, and even diamond mines on occasion.
Will make a decision on my next long term, preferably lifelong employer quite soon. Or I might still do a coal geology master's degree.
One of the prospective companies has really knocked my socks off and I impressed them too. They're fast growing, do very expensive but high quality work, and want people who are well spoken and proper so they can represent the company well to clients and potential clients. Granted, these traits can sometimes be difficult to find among coal miners, but not impossible.
Will keep /cmmg/ updated on where life takes me.
