Trick is not to upgrade to latest-and-greatest. Stay a bit behind, so new bugs got discovered and fixed by other people, while your workflow is not disturbed.
If you work in IT, then Linux is nice to have. If use domain specific applications, like PhotoShop, CAD or plethora of others, remain on Windows, and try to ignore that pride flag in June.
