Yes, and the fat bump throughout the center is so that the thing you press onto indents without much distortion for full registration/ transfer. Also, these could be placed on rollers and mass production could be done with relative ease. However papyrus early paper was supposedly difficult to make. The Chinese used silk for some wood block style transfers as well.
