Settling disagreements in space through fragmentation is the only thing to work long term (the Dark Enlightenment way).
At first it could be cities floating in international waters, and later on other planets.
For this to happen, realistically Western democracies need to degrade to the point things become bad and tyrannical enough that the Peter Thiels and other ultra-capitalists start seriously looking for alternatives.
Otherwise, it's gonna happen in the East, like Singapore and Dubai and stuff, and the West is fucked.
In any case, expect migrations of the intelligent populations out of democratic countries in the next twenty or thirty years.
Of course, once normies end up in the ruins of their liberal democracies, they're gonna move too and start pressuring the prosperous to transition into the same shit, and the cycle will repeat. But by then we'll hopefully be empowered enough to be able to continually gtfo or keep them away from us.
As a general rule of thumb, if you see people like Marc Andreesen and Thiel leave, it's probably a signal you should too.
