I prefer my region's (central texas) traditional bbq - a basic rub that doesn't need to be more than salt and pepper but can go a little further, post oak, and quality cuts of beef. Truly the white man's bbq, true to it's european immigrant origins. The seasoning police like everything drowned in sweet or hot sauce because they traditionally were given shit cuts of meat and also because non-whites love to burn their food and need something to cover up the burnt taste.
