That resulted in series of protests "No to capitulation!", here's Mariupol on pic related (sign "russia is a country-aggressor" written in russian). I've also seen photo with something like "if you withdraw troops this place can be reached by Grads"… In the end nothing more was done by him, but I don't know if protest played huge role in this decision.
