“Hey, can I talk to you?”
It was midnight, or to be more precise, 00:04 am. I’d just gotten back home, wrapped myself up in a blanket and positioned myself in from of my computer, trying to regain some physical heath. I hadn’t been able to dry myself off completely. My wet hair was still dripping, and even though I’d changed and put my wet clothes in the bathroom to dry up, I still felt clammy and damp as the heat from my apartment evaporated the waters from outside. I had made myself some food, some oatmeal with nuts and fruit, and only awaited the response of Akira so that I could share my experience with him. I felt ecstatic and perplexed. I was still slightly chuckling, trying to map out in my mind the full magnitude of the event that had just transpired, which was anything but an easy endeavor. The dimly lit screen of my stationary computer shined up at my face, silver radiance that served as the only source of artificial light in the darkness I resided within nowadays. I rarely used any other lamp. My living quarters remained located at the uppermost floor of my apartment complex, and frequently provided me with a beautiful view of the inner city, but due to the changing of the seasons and arrival of heavy rain, I hadn’t been able to see much from my residence. Torrential rains clouds and the dawn of autumn brought with it a variety of fogs, clouds, and showers.
