I'm not sure if I understand the difference. I just try to focus on the feeling and tell myself it's only that, and that it will go away soon. I wouldn't know. Like I said I don't use /pol/. I would like to think most people aren't so easily influenced, but let's say they are. If some people do adopt this simply because the media told them to, they will probably go back to the previous way once they realize it's unstable. The ones who find they like it will stay that way and no real harm will be done
