>>10746055it's something i've been vaguely interested in for a long time, especially the idea of being one of those fancy youtube editors for streamers like all the cool kids nowadays. the problem is it's always hard to build motivation for when there's not a clearly defined path to pursue and half the process is getting some sort of workable footage and an idea of what to do with it.
then yesterday i saw this one guy i watch critiquing a bunch of youtubers for various things and another guy i've watched on and off showed up to ask for some advice. the short version is that the guy told him that he really really needs to get an editor and while it's a scary amount of creative freedom to give up he has a ton of videos with a relatively simple and very consistent editing style that shouldn't be hard to study and replicate. concerns about price also came up since editors can be expensive
it got me thinking well shit i don't have a ton of technical know how but i know exactly how this guy edits his videos already and i can definitely match that no problem plus i'd have the opportunity to come quite cheap. at that point it seems like a worthwhile bet to just go rip his most recent stream, bust out 2-3 videos the way i'd imagine he would do it, and reach out to him however i can find with the examples i made.
