Somehow I only just now found out that KZ has it's own client on Steam. It's pretty good. What's weird is that you can only play with 1.6 movement and not the CS:S one, you only get the visuals of it. Not what I'm used to but it's alright.
Also nice how you can run the it with DX8. My PC can't handle Source well without it. The side effect is water being entirely white. It's disabled on CS:S itself because Valve prefers to completely disable stuff that causes issues instead of fixing them, and that's why I can't really play that game much.
Anyway, pic rel is a cool map. I think my favorite kind. Looks nice, is fairly long but not that difficult. I play KZ just to relax so half an hour of simple strafes isn't bad at all. I also enjoy looking at the vomit texture on Source which is supposed to be grass, so any map with that is good. It also has a bonus that I've been stuck on for a couple hours now.
I think this same map took me around 2 hours the last time I played it a few months ago, but I don't know if it's that I've gotten better at KZ or just because this is apparently on 1.6 movement instead of CS:S. Though 1.6 should be harder anyway.
KZ is probably my favorite movement gamemode out of everything Source because you can take it at your own pace more than in anything else, since you're just slowly jumping from block to block instead of one entire stage in one go like most other stuff. Getting to stop and take the map in is nice, with how CS:S looks and all. I've got more than a couple thousand hours in other stuff but nowadays I still just open this up instead, even though I'm shit at it.
Though in turn it's the worst when you play harder maps. It ruins my wrist to keep trying the same flicks over and over again with my sensitivity. Still can't resist grinding it sometimes, like right now.
