Homeworld always had this helplessness feeling to me. The constant cathedral choir singing. The underlying feeling that homeworld universe is far greater than it actually is. When you meet other races, like the bentusi, just an uncomfortable feeling. They're not creepy or anything just something about them is off and doesn't feel inviting despite them being one of your greatest allies. Everything just has an off putting feeling to it. The crew is always had this atmosphere of dread. Entirely understandable since their entire population is just sitting in cryo trays inside the belly of the ship and it's only like 200k people. That's it, that's the entire population.
