But I did in fact observe 8ch over the course of its entire history, and can say that central moderation is better than giving it to some random retards that are the first to click on "claim board". And board-creation just ended up killing that site since it has like a million spam boards that only drag the site down.

If 4chan was bigger, it wouldn't just become a reddit 2.0 since it would just have a bigger userbase that is assimilated into the culture, and fewer oldfags leaving for those other places and becoming useless to the internet.
