It wasn't some dopey "everything is connected" (well it was while I was on it), but more of a realization how limited our perspective is to the chemicals and experiences of our brains, and made me realize just how different other peoples thought processes can be.
I think if you never do it, you assume everyone is like you, but afterwards you kind of realize everyone is walking around making up their own personal world based on experiences and ideology.
