I WRITE SOFTWARE in C++ and DESIGN HARDWARE USING VERILOG... and I need nothing more than an old Core2Duo (bought at auction for 20quid (approx.$40)) with an Nvidia710 (bought at a second-hand store (thrift?) for 20 quid (approx.$40) and two monitors which cost me 20quid each (approx.$40)
If you NEED anything more powerful, it's only to play games and only kids and losers play games.
I work in the field of Robotics and Machine-Learning. If I can use old shitty hardware to do my job, you clearly don't need anything more modern unless you're using it to time-waste.
