If applied right you can gain resources and status from intelligence which does appeal to women. Women like good looking guys the same way guys like good looking girls but its not the main appeal. If it was most of humanity would probably look like models. The ones who say "status is the most attractive trait" are probably closer to the truth if you exclude the the womens that chose their mate based on love instead of material possesions.
