>>11604357You still have a chance. We all still have a chance. That's not optimism, that's just basic facts. In some ways it's galling. You have to abandon that teleological constant. Gaming isn't an option anymore. It's game or become the sport. You're going to be used whether you like it or not. You said false hope, so that suggests you still believe in hope. And that's something! You're in no way wrong to feel this way; school exists for miseducation, coaching exists to make you helpless, answers are readily provided to keep you from creating your own. We live in vicious times! There are no answers anymore, no surety. Just throwing dice against a wall with millions upon millions of other people. Who knows what will happen! Many will lose badly. Many will hang on in quiet desperation (the English way!), winning just enough to pay their debts. Some will pair off along the way, maybe get some kids out of the deal. Some will get much further ahead, and then do everything they can to buy their way in, to Casino Management. It's shitty and it's stupid and it's transparent and exhausting, but it's the hand you've been dealt. As before, I'm typing this for my own sake as well. It's an endless struggle and most days you feel like a fish on a hook waiting to be reeled in. Even a hooked fish keeps swimming though. You wouldn't be in the anti-lazy encouragement thread if you'd completely committed to total disengagement. Just keep swimming. No guarantees either way.
