>>20872568Another match, another defeat. Delilah sighs. She’s exhausted and sore. And boy do her arms hurt right now, MADDOTAKO’s targeting of her limbs had been relentless. She never had a chance in that final strike exchange, The Mad Octopus’ prior work on her arms made sure of that.
Delilah takes a mental note to be wary of her limbs being targeted in future matches. It was a subtle but very effective strategy. One she could learn from, more than she could say for being smashed over the head with a steel chair as had often been the case in the hardcore matches she competed in before.
MADDOTAKO approaches, and Delilah braces herself. The surprise attack from Greendragon Sam a few weeks ago had conditioned her to be cautious in those vulnerable moments after defeat. But there is no attack, or even a biting comment. Simply a kind remark, and an offer to confirm to Cassie that Delilah had indeed put up a solid fight.
“Thank you, MADDOTAKO, for your kind words.” She struggles to her feet, and bows slightly. “You gave an excellent account of yourself tonight. Both during our match and after. It was an honour to face you.”
Delilah bows again, before leaving the ring as MADDOTAKO addresses the crowd. Delilah knew she still had a long way to go, but tonight felt like a step in the right direction.
