>>19248817Now alone outside the room where the photoshoot took place, Priscilla gently wipes some paint away from Carmody’s face and smiles. A genuine smile, something she rarely finds herself doing, borne from a real desire to comfort Carmody. What she said to Carmody about Kanako’s motives might very well be true. To Priscilla, it was a train of thought that certainly made sense. However, she could be wrong, she had no way of knowing. But she knew she wanted Carmody to believe it simply had to be true. Because then, Carmody would be pushed into her arms by disappointment.
It was Priscilla’s modus operandi. Convince someone how much they need her, that there is no hope without her and they simply have nowhere else to turn, then let the rest take care of itself. She’s done this a million times, it always works. But yet Priscilla finds herself with a distaste for causing Carmody emotional pain, even if only done for the greater good of gently nudging her to her side.
Not used to this inner conflict, she tries to soften the blow, though Priscilla’s instinctive tendency toward manipulation is so complete that despite her intent, the words coming out of her mouth only serve to further magnify herself as the sole answer to the problem she endeavoured to convince Carmody of.
>Luckily you have me now. A real friend. Someone who simply lacks any cause to be jealous of anyone the way those dojo girls are toward you.Priscilla pauses, allowing her words to sink in before continuing
>I was very happy when you suggested we face Kanako and Nika in a tag match. I’d love to do that. Indeed, I hope for it to be just the start of a long and very successful partnership between us in the ring, but also out of it
