Akira (obligatory)
Vampire Hunter D (1985, but Bloodlust is pretty good too)
Fist of the North Star (animated motion picture is good, but the TV series is pretty fun if you watch the dub)
Golgo 13 (pure manime)
Demon City Shinjuku or Wicked City
There you got, start with those and you should be able to find others from that era pretty easily.
