It doesn't work like that, some people may never get the drive, but most people develop that drive in their own time. I was living a similar life until I hit 24, and decided I wanted to make a go of doing art. The chance of me making it is low, but pressuring some guy who doesn't really know what his passion is doesn't make him passionate, it makes him bitter and resentful. Maybe this guy is happy with his sneakers, maybe that's genuinely all he needs in his life. Not everyone needs to play into the bullshit rat race of trying to get a house before the third worlders get to it, or trying to get a job where some chick in HR can decide that she doesn't like you and get you fired. Boomers will never understand that the world is completely different from when they were the same age, hell it's completely different than it was a decade ago. Finding a partner is hard enough for a man, finding a job just as hard, finding a passion, the fucking hardest. Also you say you're a psychologist and yet you're here on pol.
