Gender reassignment is an appropriate last measure for a TINY percentage of a percent whose mental issues are so significant and resistant to other treatments that it's basically a choice of pretending to live as another sex, or life in an asylum as a danger to themselves. It being pushed as a baseline treatment is one of the most egregious developments in modern medicine.
Chop and stitch all you like. I'll accept you as a person if you're honest about just being a weirdo like people who do other body modifications, but it doesn't change your biological sex and I won't lie or suffer any other to lie about it.
