'Greys' were created by H.G Wells first appearing in an article man in the millionth year in 1896, then later appearing in one of his novels.
Perhaps the best well know case with a very reliable witness was when Astronaut Gordon Cooper saw a disc shaped UFO land at Edwards Airforce base during the day.
He was able to take a few pictures, but it took off again.

With that in mind it's likely that all UFOs which cannot be described by natural phenomena or other means are likely secret military aircraft.
