The mountains are not the majority of the population. If you came buenos aires and interacted with any bolivian or peruvian teenager you will find out they are extremely meek in personality and tend to have issues communicating, they dont like to speak with a high voice tone and their women tend to go arround covered in 40 rags. Precisely is this kind of girls that you see interested in k-pop.
Easier to prove. In russia the regions where K-pop is the most popular is in turkic repunlics of mostly asian population (understandably), but more improtant. In the caucasus (!) Why would caucasians be interested in gooks? Because they are mysoginists and culturally closed, their women are not expected to show sexual behaviour and thus k-pop being a sexually unthreatening market is not regarded as problematic
