>>10759256What makes it addicting? Is it similar to this whole concept of binging, like how people seem to be compulsed to watch entire seasons of TV shows in one sitting?
>doesn't hinge on a distaste of foreign culture, but rather a preference for the nativeThis is not a bad thing. Different yet equal and all that. Besides, if they keep foreigners at bay they have better chances of keeping their culture intact. I don't understand this obsession that westerners have with mixing a bunch of cultures together, even incompatible ones. On the other hand, I find national (alongside racial and sexual and the like) identity to be the lowest form of identiy. It doesn't mean that one should disregard the achievements of their ancestors, but if that's the only thing which gives them a sense of identity then they haven't accomplished anything during their lives.
>usually a specific 'offending' videoWhat counts as an offending video?
They try to make their lives worse? As in the lives of the people who are behind the character?
>coming from a wealthy family meant a lotIt still does. Status is much easier to obtain when your parents already have the connections through which they can propel you up. Though it's better in the sense that you can't end up a high ranking officer through nepotism alone. Still, it makes one wonder about this whole spiel about equal opportunities, doesn't it?
About the Civil War, I heard that the Confederates performed especially poorly compared to the Yankees. Why was that?
>doesn't it?I doubt it does, really. This is not just me being in denial. I find it difficult to talk to girls, but with older women it's not so bad. I feel more at ease and I feel that they will listen and that they care. That teacher of mine was pretty much the only person with whom I could talk like I do here, but irl. I know that this whole thing about older women is nothing more than a fantasy. I'm not delusional to believe otherwise.
With my tastes?
