The US should seriously consider shutting down a shit ton of its universities/colleges and raising the standards for college admission to prevent this shit from happening again.
This also applies to professional schools. For example, InfiLaw System owned 3 of the shittiest law schools (all for-profit) in America. On top of their abysmal admission standards (e.g., ~145 LSAT, 2.7 GPA) these schools had awful employment-upon-graduation rates, abysmal income:debt ratios (since 99% made like ~50K a year starting) with the super-majority of its graduates never entering the law profession (and a sub 50% first time bar passage rate among those that continued in law).
