You can get by without thinking too much about it, but it sure helps when things are a little bit planned at least. But i think specialization helps in that department too. If one person keeps to one area and other to the other, it all gets easier and faster, obviously, that's the point. That said, i don't think it works that often either.

Like reminding one self how nice it feels when after doing all that tidying up you see the result. Or after cooking you get to enjoy the fruits of that labor. But i don't think grateful goes too far into that, i don't remember when was the last time i thought 'good thing i have drinking water whenever i want' Maybe it's unconscious or maybe it isn't.
