in this sense, a "state" for good rest and contemplation, would actually be a vector (hence their use to an end "rest" "contemplation"). in other words, all "apparent states" have meaning, -good- meaning, even if we don't know what it is, but as we go down this track of making all "states" into "vectors" by connecting them to meaning, less and less of it needs to be taken by faith, and the meaning inside of the vectors compresses and compresses.
