let us see what happens to people that go to hell in the old testament
Malachi 4 King James Version (KJV)
1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
The people that go to hell die and turn to ash
they shall be ashes beneath the souls of your feet
>but doesnt the bible say hell is foreverWell it depends on how the translator translates Aion and Aionios
sometimes the translator translates them as age and other times as eternal
https://biblehub.com/greek/165.htmage (20), ages (6), ancient time (1), beginning of time (1), course (1), eternal (2), eternity (1), ever* (2), forever (27), forever and ever (20), forevermore (2), long ago (1), never* (1), old (1), time (1), world (7), worlds (1).
Just look at how they translate this word. Very inconsistent.
Remember the bible is true, the English translators can make mistakes.
Also most Christians believe that hell is eternal. If they would translate the word accurately Christians would shun the bible for being heretical when it is being accurate to what the Hebrew and Greek says. You cant translate the bible correctly because it contradicts mainstream Cristian dogma
https://bible-truths.com/email2.htm#aionlisten mate hell cannot be forever because it contradicts what the bible says about hells punishment being finite , therefore the translators picked the wrong translation for the word aion.
I will go more into this in part 4
