Imagine actually believing this. It's just Americans wishing they had created the best language ever spoken, and they have crafted a myth that they speak it the correct way, which is patently false and has been debunked (unironically).
English was spoken with a rhotic accent in the 1700s, and American accents are rhotic now. This does not mean that present day American accents are the 'correct' or 'original' way of speaking English.
Repeating this myth makes you look very stupid.
