These people have adopted the worst possible combination of risk exposure and hold periods. It's all devoted long hold WITH options and some risky short expiry options on top. Just completely retarded decision making. No strategy. No concept of risk management. Marrying their stocks. Then they form support groups online where they all enable each other to do more of this madness.
