Following the horrors of the Novogrod War, the Baltic War, the Wars of Expansion, and the Savoy War, Europe, Africa, and Asia are once more at peace.
The most powerful of the nations is the Mediterranean Union. A giant nation, it uses its command of the western coastlines of Europe, Africa, the Agean Sea, and the Straits of Gibraltar to dominate global trade. It dominates the west of Europe, yet continues to maintain a check on the other powers that be via its presence in Greece.
The second-most powerful is the German Empire, or Kaiserreich. Despite being far smaller than the Union or the Pig Empire, its strength makes up for the size difference. Its control of Central Europe gives it a vast pool of resources with which it can use to fuel its vast industries, and its hundreds of cities gives the Empire a vast populace; The Kaiserreich is also the only other nation to have any presence on the European west coast besides the Union;
The third greatest power is the Pig Empire: Situated primarily in Russia and India, it is actually headed in Ethiopia. The vast landmass gives it far more resources than the other nations, although it is sparsely populated, and is less developed than the Union or the Kaiserreich. They benefit greatly from their control of the Nile river, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Suez Canal.
Finally, the only other power is the SCFOB- a mercenary state that has miraculously secured the majority of the oil-producing world. Being dominated by the military, it has one of the strongest fighting forces in the world, being able to hold even the Kaiserreich at bay during the Baltic War. Their position allows them to secure many favorable terms at the negotiating table.
This peace was hard-fought. The only question that remains is whether it will last.
