The State doesn't get to control your life, but neither does Capitalism. Society provides a broad safety net to ensure everyone has access to basic healthcare and education, and from that common base, individuals compete in the open market. Regulations and taxes ensure that no one gets so far ahead as to be uncatchable, though. Nobody gets lucky once and then all of their descendants for 10 generations get to be rich for zero effort.
This way you still get to be rich if you work hard to be a doctor, and your kids enjoy some advantage from that wealth, but your kids still have to work to survive. No freedloading.
