Romans displaced much of the Jews from Judea and later fell due to corruption and division of the empire to smaller states each having a strongman trying to unite rome under their rule. Until finally they were too weak to be overtaken by other tribes.
Jews were long gone by then. The reason why the British empire or US does anything is to further their interests. Brits colonized the middle-east to import british culture & gain access to oil. They created Israel as a puppet state to gain access to Suez Canal & to keep a western stronghold in the middle-east. US is continuing this project.
The truth is that empires expand and wish to control others because it's what the empires do. This world is too complex to blame everything on Jews. They're but a one interest group in this world.
