>It's factually true Josie is as intelligent as her parents, and none of them can read much more than a McDonalds menu. With this in mind, it's nice that she's at least doing something for money instead of collecting welfare or disability checks like other low IQ autistic people.
9 hours of entertainment beats 0 hours of contributing nothing to society. And I'd say it adds more value to more people in society than her former trash sorting job (which could and probably will eventually be automated by a machine anyway).
I can say personally that it gives me something to do while her picking up trash in another state does nothing for me.
To attack her for this is equivalent to attacking a mentally ill child. I love Josie, but none of us can deny she is retarded and autistic and it's not like it was a choice (I'm sure some of us here don't even consider this a flaw). It's not like anyone gets to choose their parents either.
So all in all, it doesn't seem fair to make these kinds of judgments against her as if she was a normal person with a normal family.
At least she's trying something, is happy with it, and is making other people happy. What's wrong with such a thing really?
And if it ever stops being profitable, she'll probably go back to working a real labor job anyhow so who cares?
