>>10879733mastering anxiety is based around training your mind. i used to have terrible anxiety, constant panic attacks, etc. that I mastered through training the mind. meditation and breath training help, but it's really about defeating the feedback loops that let anxiety build and build on itself until its a problem. Let me recommend a couple of books to you that seriously helped me a lot:
Badass Ways to End Anxiety & Stop Panic Attacks! (sounds cheesy, but is very good)
The Worry Trick: How Your Brain Tricks You into Expecting the Worst and What You Can Do About It
The gist is that your mind is geared towards spooking you. Your caveman mind sees 100 sabre tooth tigers for each real one, because that's how we survive. It can go into overdrive, and you can train yourself to not let it do this.
1) We live with uncertainty, we don't dwell on it
2) The anxiety mantra is "whatever happens, it will be okay"
3) We neither run from nor fight the symptoms of being uncomfortable
4) Let yourself be. It's okay to be anxious, it's okay to be uncomfortable, it's okay to have intrusive thoughts. Just don't fight it, and it will leave you. And remember, anxiety can't hurt you.
I got over it without pills or drugs or substances of any kind. It took probably a solid year of practice, but I'd struggled with it for like 15 years since I was 13, and now I am completely fine. Every so often I'll wake up with a mild anxiety episode, but because I don't feed it, it goes away within 10-15 minutes and I go back to sleep. That's it.
You can do it anon.
