if regular format gets good results and is more intuitive for the printmonkeys to work with and landscape format requires special babby care to come out good, i know which one i want. yeah sure, if you're really careful with landscape format it might be superior but i'd rather take my chances with what's been proven to work.
and this is even without mentioning the absolute shelf gore if you include landscape format photobooks.
