Dr. Hotez seems like he could be a disguise monster of my coworker from Exide Tim Jeffries. At the end of my interviewing for the job at Exide, Tim sat at my boss Rod's desk, kicked his feet up on Rod's desk, started telling me about "who's really in charge," and he was kind of pointing to himself while he did so.
My interaction with Tim at Exide was that during the weeks of the body of any development task, Tim would say, "Ask Sandy," no matter how many times Sandy told me the wrong thing. I would say, "Tim! WTF is this? Sandy told me this bullshit again," and then he would say, "Idk, go ask Sandy." Then when the development calendar ended and Sandy had been telling me the wrong thing all along, Tim would go and do it on his own in an hour or two. There was no reason, most of the time, to have me asking Sandy to correct the wrong technical specs she had given me the day before, and frequently there was no reason to have me doing any development at all since Tim would often do it all at the end. Tim would tell me to ask her because it was like I was supposed to be doing work. A lot of those projects at Exide ended with Sandy never actually giving me the real specs on the project's task and then Tim would go and do it on his own in two hours at the end.
