The Hebrew faith didn't "come out of the sky", it was created in the context of the Canaanite pantheon which dominated the area. It's not "hot new shit out of the blue", it was a schism created generally because people were upset with the Canaanites because their fertility rituals included a lot of getting ass-fucked. This is why they chose to worship Yahweh, who was hated by the Canaanites. Every other God was chill with the sodomite bullshit.

Think about how the Romans had lots of Gods, but mainly worshiped Jupiter/Zeus as the main God. That was top dog, and nobody else came close. The same is true for the Canaanites, who worshiped Hadad, God of Storms, as the chief of the Gods.
