>>14933002It's helpful to know how much you're eating. A normal adult should eat around 2000 calories a day, so if you're not trying to gain or lose weight you should try to aim for that. Most people misscalculate how much they eat in a day (trust me I do too if I'm not counting). For example 100g of cashew is around 600 calories, and that's really not a lot of food or very filling, but calorie wise it's more than 1/4 of your daily intake!
You can also take it a step further by counting your macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats), but I think that's only helpful for people who are trying to achieve a certain body type.
